Do YOU have a Calling Card?

How many times have you run into a friend, or met someone new and wanted to exchange phone numbers, emails and other contact information? Instead of fishing around for a scrap of paper and pen, it’s so much easier to simply pull out a cute card and say, “Here’s my info. Call me/email me later this week and we’ll get together!” What a pleasant and convenient way to trade contact information not to mention what a great way to make a great impression with a nice looking card!

There are so many other occasions when you could use a card. I’ve dropped them in jars at restaurants offering a weekly free lunch drawing, for example, used one when filling out a form and needing name, address, phone number and e-mail, I can just hand my card over and say, “Here’s all the information, including the spelling of my last name.”

If you have a BLOG - you can use your cards to promote your blog in your day to day life. ProBlogger lists business cards as the #1 way to increase readership through offline methods.

Cathe Holden was the one who convinced me to order cards for my blog. She orders hers thru Overnight Prints, so I gave them a try several months ago. I was able to design my own cards (now I want new ones to match my new blog look) and they shipped them to my home in just a few short days. I get so many compliments on what nice cards they are. They're very high quality with the glossy look and rounded corners. VERY professional looking.

Do you have an Etsy shop? Cards are a MUST for sending out with your orders - take a look at what all Cathe does with her cards!

I highly recommend Overnight Prints - right now you can receive 30% off your order by using code 30BCSALE when you order 1,000 cards. If you get on their mailing list, they send you specials all of the time - on occasion they even have codes for free cards (just pay shipping).

Overnight Prints has some WONDERFUL premade designs to choose from, or you can upload your own designs!

Do you have a business card for your blog? Have you found them to be useful in building readership?

I've been using cards for about six years now and I love them - SO much easier than writing out all that info! :)

Vistaprint.com is another great place to get cards from. They usually offer 250 for free, you just have to pay the shipping which is not much. They have LOTS of cute templates or you can design your own. I think you have to pay a couple dollars extra to upload your own design but still its worth it.

Mandi I've used Vista Print but there quality does not compare to the quality of Overnight Prints, and for the little bit difference in the cost it's WELL worth it!!

I use cards too and all the other moms love them. I make my own (cause I'm uber cheap), but they are cute as can be. It's so easy to just hand them out instead of trying to find something to write on.

I have little cards but sometimes I'm hesitant to hand them around... it feels braggy! But seriously, I think I will bite the bullet and get some cute ones like those!

I did, however, get stickers made with my blog address on them and any time I bake something and give it away, send it to a bake sale, give a donation of a craft, I put a sticker on it. I think that is also a good little tip, and pretty inexpensive.

Stickers are a nice idea too! You could stick them on the person cell phone, or in the mirror of his car :)
