Peach Cobbler

The other day I put a tweet out on Twitter that I had some fresh peaches that had been frozen and asked should I make Peach Cobbler or Peach Pie??? this is the awesome response I got!

You can click to see it larger if you want to read all of the responses.

As you can see the overwhelming response was cobbler, then I was on the hunt for a recipe. I also sent out a facebook message as well, asking for a Peach Cobbler recipe! Debbie and Charlene both gave me the same recipe - Debbie's had been in her family for years, Charlene said her's came from Paula Deen and a few people sent me links on Twitter to some recipes.

I studied all of the recipes and tweaked a bit to what I had on hand, and what sounded good to me.

So, I want to thank all who helped me come up with this week's recipe.....................

Peach Cobbler

4 cups peeled peaches (mine had been frozen, I measured peaches and juice to 4 cups)

1/2 cup butter

1 cup flour

1 & 3/4 cup sugar (divided)

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

2/3 cup milk

1 egg

1/4 tsp vanilla

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup brown sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350°F

2. Put the butter in a 9x13 inch glass dish and place in oven until melted.

3. Mix flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder and salt in bowl.

4. Add milk and egg to flour mixture and stir to combine.

5. Pour batter over melted butter in glass dish. - DO NOT STIR

6. Put your peaches in a bowl, add 3/4 cup sugar along with vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir to combine.

7. Spoon peaches gently over batter. - DO NOT STIR

8. Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar over top of peaches and batter.

9. Bake cobbler for 30-40 mins or until batter is golden brown.

10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Of course you can adapt this to your liking, but my family thoroughly enjoyed this!

Do you have a favorite Peach Pie recipe or some other peach recipe? I'd love to see them! I have more peaches in the freezer! Leave me a comment.....I'd love more peach recipes!
