Where is the Heart of Your Home?

"Dinner! Time to EAT!"

Do you remember your mom calling those words when you were a kid? Do you remember running down the stairs to familiar smells and rushing to take your place at the table?

Samsung Home Appliances asked Twittermoms to share "Where is the heart of your home?" What room in your house celebrates the "life" of your family?

Ours would have to be our dinner table. Whether we are having frozen pizza, flank steak sandwiches or Lasagna, the dinner table is where important stuff happens. Our family discusses news of the day, stories are told, jokes are made and most importantly memories are made for all of us!

I have 3 teeange boys and a baby princess to feed. Not to mention daddy-o.
I spend 90% of my time in the kitchen. The only time I sit down is to fold laundry or post a recipe on my blog.
Since I spend all my time in my cozy kitchen, I recently purchased your FRENCH DOUBLE DOOR, BOTTOM FREEZER refrigerator and OH MY GOODNESS, I AM IN HEAVEN. PURE HEAVEN.
It's huge and I can stay organized and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that it has not one, but 2 ice makers.
Oh, and the LARGE DELI DRAWER. Oh , and the perfect storage for loose popscicles in your freezer.
I could go on and on and on, but I really didn't know I could be sooooooooo HAPPY about a refrigerator !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It didn't used to be that way, but I recently acquired my grandparents table (the one that's been around as long as I can remember). Now we do everything at that table. talk, eat, craft, laugh, cry. Heidi, I know how you feel - my Dad made our kitchen table, as well as most of our furniture (he was a cabinet maker) - since losing him 5 years ago to cancer I feel close to him knowing I have all the furniture around me!♥

(This isn't going to get X-rated, LOL) The kids all like to crash in our bed in the morning (and they don't want to leave!) and we read there at night...sometimes we review school papers, etc. It's a huge, huge bed and the room is relatively peaceful (no TV to distract) and it seems to be where we begin and end the day as a group. Some days I feel like the heart of our home is the bathroom since everyone seems to want to use the space while I'm trying to have some privacy! :P; 9/18/09, 7:54 PM

It really depends on the time of day and what we're doing. During the day, we spend time in the Living Room and Kitchen and outside if it's nice. At night, when we go upstairs to our bedrooms, our room becomes the 'meeting place' for our kids to come and see us :)

I guess the heart of the home is wherever your family is at any given time.
