Starbucks Giveaway and a new Pup!

On Sunday my family was whispering behind closed doors, making private phone calls and all three jumped in the truck and left the house together for the second day in a row. I KNEW they were doing or planning "something" for my birthday, but I just couldn't figure out what!

I enjoyed the piece and quiet while I tapped away on my laptop getting all of these fun Giveaways ready for all of my sweet readers!

After several hours I hear the truck pull into the driveway, and then lots of noise as they came through the front door.

I hear "MOM?" .....I was in my office. The three of them walk into my office with Sunshine holding what I thought was a wadded up blanket....."Happy early Birthday!"

She hands me the blanket while I curiously look to see.........

His name is ♥ Cullen

*for all of you NON Twilight fans {gasp} - that's the vampire family's name

he is a 9 week old Yorkie!

So needless to say, my world has been turned upside down for the last few days!LOL

So has my kitty Kix's world! LOL

Remember that new Flip Video I mentioned that I won a few weeks ago?

Well, now I can show you VIDEO of Cullen! LOL

Here's a little clip of him playing with me in the kitchen.

Every time I would say "what?" he would bark

- but once I got the camera out I was saying "what" a little more than he was! LOL

Twilight Valentines and Peppermint Bark

Amy over at Living Locurto recently heard my cries on Twitter

She goes and finds me some FREE downloads so I can

print my own Twilight Valentines!

So all you Twilightaholics out there,

Twilight Valentine for your "Edward"

Need a SWEET TREAT

to give your Valentine?

I've made this treat at Christmas time, and thought it would make a wonderful Valentine treat as well!! It's SO simple to make and was a huge hit with my family and friends.

Makes a cute gift packaged many different ways. I put mine in celo bags, with ribbon tied around it. You could also put them in a cute tin, box or even an antique cup & saucer.

Peppermint Bark

1 pound of white chocolate, chopped

1 pound of bittersweet chocolate, chopped

1 box of peppermint candy canes (11-12oz)

1/2 tsp. pure peppermint oil

Break up peppermint candy canes in a plastic bag, setting aside 1/4 of the pieces.

Next melt the bittersweet chocolate until all pieces are smooth, then add in 1/4 tsp. of peppermint oil.

Pour onto a cookie sheet pan that has been lined with wax paper and spread evenly. Chill approximately one hour.

Now melt the white chocolate until all pieces are smooth, add 1/4 tsp. of peppermint oil and 3/4 of the the peppermint pieces.

Spread the white chocolate over the dark chocolate use a spatula and spread to the edge of the pan.

Sprinkle the top with the remaining peppermint pieces. Chill until hardened (about 4 hours or overnight) then break apart into bite size pieces and serve or package into gifts. Will keep in fridge for 5-6 weeks.

All is right in my world again.......

I finally finished the last book in the
Twilight Series
, Breaking Dawn.
Loved it!
Wasn't my favorite in the series, but I was happy with the ending.

I was then able to get on with my house work! LOL
The Bug Man and Sunshine left for the cabin for 2 days, leaving we with the house to myself!

First..............down came all the Christmas decor.
Whew! That felt good!

Next..........."Hello my little everyday goodies!"
As much as I enjoy Christmas, all the clutter really drives me crazy.
It felt really good to open the Christmas bins and see all of my everyday favorites safely packed away.
Kix did NOT want me to put up the tree skirt!
He was CERTAIN that was HIS new Bed!
It took 4 sheets on the lint roller to get ALL of the cat hair off the tree skirt!
YUCK! Thanks Kix!

Last............cleaning!
It just goes hand in hand with bringing the holiday to a close.

My problem.....I get a little carried away sometimes.
You see, sometimes I should NOT have access to a screwdriver when I clean. I like to take things apart and clean them!
I was cleaning the oven and realized there was a lot of dripping down inside the glass.....
"Well looky here! there's only 2 screws holding that piece on the door of the oven!"
Next thing I know........I have the whole thing apart!!

The only bad part........I can't put it back together by myself! LOL It requires at least 3 maybe 4 hands! So it will sit like this until The Bug Man gets home tomorrow.

So everything is "right" in my world again.
Christmas is down and put away
House is close to being clean
I have finished the Twilight Series.......(need to start them over)

Time to start thinking about some unfinished projects
I have a few organizing/cleaning projects to start
I have a few crafting projects to make
A HUGE list of crafting projects I'd like to TRY
I would like to work on my blog - clean up, maybe a new background.....
I'm evening working on my first GIVEAWAY!!
So stay tuned!!

I'm still here! Just hangin with my Vampire love

Just thought I'd let you all know, I have NOT fallen off the face of the earth!

We had a wonderful Christmas, and everyone has been enjoying time at home and all of their new goodies.

Sunshine and I spend most of our days and evenings with our Vampire friends.

I started a little bit of New Moon a day or two before Christmas and was able to finish it on Friday the 26th. I couldn't stand it and quickly started Eclipse that evening and finished it by Sunday evening. Breaking Dawn was sitting there taunting me, I SOOO badly wanted to read it, but I knew once I did, it would all come to an end. What would I have when it was over? I couldn't put it off any longer, and started it yesterday afternoon, but I'm taking it

s l o w...savoring every moment of it.

So that's where I've been dear blog readers........living in my escapism of vampires that live among humans, sparkle in the daylight and fall in love with the average girl next door- TOTALLY NONSENSE! and TOTALLY NOT something I would think I would read, much less enjoy and LOVE!
